Blaise Castle Cafe
Client: Bristol City Council
Contractor: Stradform
Architect: CODA
Completed: 2005
Set in the historic grounds of Blaise Castle, Bristol, the cafe nestles in a corner of an equally historic Repton landscape.
Our scheme sets the architectural elements elegantly into the existing estate boundary wall a sober and elegant precision. We used a non-poisonous yew as the hedge to define the cafe garden. In an amusing outbreak of health and safety excess it was subsequently removed following an ill-informed complaint by a ‘concerned parent’.
